La Hermosa is a farm located in the Acatenango Valley, Guatemala, which in a short time of existence, has been the winner of the most prestigious awards for coffee quality. Like all companies, La Hermosa has its history… small and recent, but equally exciting in all its stages; Here’s a bit of that:

  • Like many coffee farms in Guatemala, the land that today is the home of Finca La Hermosa was abandoned by its previous owners, due to the political and financial crisis that has plagued our country for many years; However, due to a dream that a coffee family in Guatemala had, and of course, the product of a lot of effort, dedication and passion for coffee, at the beginning of 2009 they bought this abandoned land, which was completely renovated, planting very fine seeds, implementing organic practices and innovating in production processes.

  • Since the beginning the farm is own and managed by a fourth generation of coffee producers; They work with a great team to produce specialty coffees through experience and innovation; maintaining 100% organic agricultural practices that are friendly to the environment and focusing on corporate social responsibility to achieve a new form of agricultural management economically viable for all parties involved.

  • Located on the slopes of the Acatenango Volcano, our farm fields range from 1,900 meters above sea level to 2,100 meters above sea level where the most delicate and exotic varieties are planted. La Hermosa has a volcanic soil rich in minerals, a rainfall of 1,000 mm and a temperature of 21ºC, which translates into one of the best microclimates in the world to produce specialty coffees.

Part of a dream and a goal to fulfill, in 2020 finca La Hermosa evolves in the importation of green coffee and inagurate the roastery to grow and extend its operations to the United States and Mexico always following the bases and ideology of the farm to maintaining all the standards of quality and traceability of our coffee.

La Hermosa has transmited with its green coffees and now with its roasted coffee the most honest expression of the land and the people who work there. We respect nature and value the wonder of the place that gives rise to our exotic coffees. We invite you to try a small part of one of the most special products that exists in Guatemala … the organic coffee from La Hermosa.

Varieties

The philosophy of La Hermosa is to differentiate our coffee, based on the following premise:
“100% high quality organic coffee”.

These varieties are planted from 1,900 meters to 2,100 meters above sea level.

  • TYPICA

One of our renown treasures, Typica is also one of the most important varieties from the C. arabica species in the region. It is well-known for its high quality but low yield. It is considered a traditional variety in Guatemala, but due to its low yielding and high susceptibility to major coffee diseases, it has gradually been replaced.

The variety was discovered in 1949 in Guatemala. Its presence is mostly seen in the East of the country.
